Avoid to record "extra" metadata with Zotero Connector

As title.

I want to fetch all metadata available except "extra".

Additional info: with beta of Zotero 7 are you finally considering to implement a function to erase a column of metadata from a whole collection?
  • You can't exempt fields from import, sorry (and it's also a bad idea to generally don't get Extra, which may include crucial things like DOIs for item types where they're not supported etc.).

Bulk editing has never been a question of consideration, it's always been a question of implementation, I don't have anything on an ETA, but everyone agrees it's needed.
  • By "you can't exempt" field do you mean that it's more practical to erase what is imported after; instead of reprogramming Zotero to avoid fetching a specific metadata, right? Because I am quite sure that there a way to reprogram Zotero to never register specific fields.

It's mostly a problem of coordination between Zotero and Latex .bst files. These are programmed in a way that they call directly on packages, so you cannot reprogram them to not compile fields without popping errors or altering the package itself.
  • Well yes, you can either go individually through all 600 translators that handle import into Zotero and modify those or modify and recompile Zotero to not write to the Extra field which would probably involve both a custom connector and custom code in Zotero, but I didn't think that was actually the type of change you're asking about?

You can, though, use the BBT add-on to manage what is and isn't getting exported to bibtex files.
