Zotero treats one reference as multiple references
This is quite perplexing. I have only one copy of the reference published in 2021, yet when I cite it at different places in the same Word file, it appears as:
authorA et al., 2021a
authorA et al., 2021b
authorA et al., 2021c
I attempted to remove the "a," "b," and "c" at the end. However, after refreshing, they reappear. In the reference list, the exact same article is repeated three times, labeled as (2021a), (2021b), and (2021c).
I then removed all three copies from the Word file's reference list, deleted all citations in the text, saved the document, closed both the Word file and Zotero. However, upon reopening Zotero and the Word file, the problem persists.
Even after deleting all references and trying again, the issue remains unchanged. I checked for updates, but none were available.
Upon examining the "Report Errors" from Zotero, the following errors were reported, although they don't seem directly related to the issue at hand:
[unrelated errors removed — D.S.]
version => 6.0.30, platform => Win32, oscpu => Windows NT 10.0; WOW64, locale => en-US, appName => Zotero, appVersion => 6.0.30, extensions => Zotero LibreOffice Integration (6.0.4.SA.6.0.30, extension), Zotero Word for Windows Integration (6.0.3.SA.6.0.30, extension)"
It appears that these errors are not directly related to the issues described earlier.
By the way, I am using the Windows system.
Thanks a lot!
