Zotero 7 and Adobe Digital Edition EPUB Files

I know this discussion came up many years ago, before EPUB files were featured in the Zotero Reader. Now that EPUB files are a part of the Reader, will we able to open ADE versions at some point? My attempt to open one tonight just shows a blank reader pane. No error.

I would also appreciate some advice on how to best manage my academic reading workflow. Adobe Digital Editions is the standard for e-books at my university library, too, and the ADE apps have their own file storage, which you can sync across devices. What's the best way to combine this with using Zotero?
