Hello,

I am in the process of updating some page numbers in my in-text references in an MS Word document. But whenever I do that, Zoter crashes, shutting down MS Word.

I select the in-text reference for which I want to add the page number --> go to the Zotero tab in Word --> Add/Edit Citation --> I insert the page number beside the citation (so it gets highlighted along with the reference) --> click enter --> Zotero crashes, shutting down also MS Word and pop up error appears ''Zotero experienced an error updating your document. Would you like to view troubleshooting instructions?''

It does not do so for every single reference. For a few of them, it is working fine.

Any solution, please?

Begin by updating Office to the latest version available for you and restarting your computer.

Sharing an update on this: by removing hyphenation feature, I could amend in-text references without issues.

What do you mean by "hyphenation feature"?

Open MS Word --> Page Layout --> Hyphenation -->uncheck option to automatically hyphenate document & uncheck Hyphenate words in CAPS.

After unchecking both, I managed to amend my in-text references without any further crashing.

No idea if this was indeed the root cause, but it fixed the issue in my case.
