Problem Integrating Appendix in Word alongside Reference List

Hi Everyone, I created a separate appendix that I need to integrate into my main document. When I try to refresh the citations in Word with both the Reference list and Appendix present, sources are added into my Appendix from the reference list, which don't belong there. Any suggestions on why this is happening?
