Zotero preview changes when applied to Word

Hi all,

I just noticed that when using Chicago (note) in Word it doesn't include a comma between the last name and name. I've checked on Zotero: Edit>Preferences>Style Preview and it does add a comma there.

Is there any way to fix this?
  • could you give an example of what exactly you're seeing in the document (i.e. just copy&paste here)? I have a hard time following what comma you're referring to.
  • Sure! I thought it was hard to follow but I couldn't figure out a better way to explain it, sorry.

When I check the style preview I see a comma between last name and name like here:

Nebel, Arjuna, Alexander Kling, Ruben Willamowski, y Tim Schell. «Recalibration of Limits to Growth: An Update of the World3 Model». Journal of Industrial Ecology, 13 de noviembre de 2023, jiec.13442. https://doi.org/10.1111/jiec.13442.

But in the Word document this is what I get:

Arjuna Nebel et al., «Recalibration of limits to growth: An update of the World3 model», Journal of Industrial Ecology, 13 de noviembre de 2023, n/a-n/a, https://doi.org/10.1111/jiec.13442.

Is there a way for me to add that comma without having to edit every single footnote?
  • a) That's the full notes style, not the note style
    b) The first example is the bibliography entry (which has the first author with their last name first for sorting), the second the in-text citation/footnote
  • Ah I see. My bad.

Is there a way to make the comma appear in the footnote? For some reason my uni wants it that way even though it's not how Chicago should look like.

    Thank you for the help!
