@vojtech.kase: Sorry, I wasn’t aware that there was an earlier metadata format. Please send a metadata.epub.lua file created with an older version of KOReader to support@zotero.org and include a link to this thread.
Could it be updated to automatically offer to import annotations if a valid metadata folder (same name as the file) is found?
It should already be doing that. You'll need to be using linked files. We'll look into supporting auto-import from Calibre with stored files (as long as you have the same EPUB in both Calibre and Zotero).

Ah, understood, only working with 'linked files' now. I was using 'Stored Files'.
However, I was wondering if it would be possible to avoid opening epub file and going to 'File->Import Ebook Annotations' to import them. So upon adding the epub to the library Zotero could import annotations at the same time if they were found in the same directory as the epub.
