Hi,
I have used this software for a long time. Recently I found my zotero-connector in edge can't save pdf from Sciencedirect. Now I know there are some prevention in Sciencedirect . But there is also a problem in authors saving. The author in my zotero is null. Looks like that's just a problem with the detection on ScienceDirect pages with query strings (the part after the ?) containing "pdf" — if you hover over the save button you can see it's using Embedded Metadata in that case. We'll fix, but in the meantime you can save from the base URL (https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/abs/pii/S0034425722001869) to get proper metadata.

Fixed. Your Zotero Connector should auto-update within 24 hours, or you can update manually by clicking Update Translators in the Advanced pane of the Zotero Connector preferences. Thanks for reporting.

This problem seems to be back; I am unable to save PDFs from a ScienceDirect page in Edge. The connector works for every other page. This is not an issue with the query strings this time... the link used is just the base url: https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S1574004816300192

Is this just ScienceDirect being a d***?
