Zotero 7 Beta: Linked PDFs are always opened in a tab

Although "Open files in new windows instead of tabs" is enabled in Zotero's settings, when clicking on links to PDFs (like zotero://open-pdf/library/items/VKYNWDVE?page=15&annotation=87A68BH3), then the PDF is always opened in a tab of the main window, provided that the PDF is not already opened in a standalone window.

Observing with 7.0.0-beta.53+969031a37 on Ubuntu.

Hi there, how to xdg-open a "zotero:// " link in Linux with Zotero 7? I have tried so many ways , but still failed to make it happen....
