AMA Style issues

Hello. I received feedback from an editor that AMA style does not place page numbers in the superscript, but rather does so in the reference section. I'm going through my manuscript to do this by hand. I wanted to flag this in case others find it helpful.

Also, I was told that journal titles should be abbreviated in the reference list for AMA. I'm having do this by hand as well. Which ... is very laborious. Is there a way to automate this process?
  • 1. There are two types of page numbers: the page range for journal articles or chapters, which Zotero 's AMA' style already puts in the reference list, and the specific page number for a direct quotation, e.g. For this latter category, the editor you talked to is incorrect. AMA has thise in text as Zotero does, see e.g. https://subjectguides.uwaterloo.ca/c.php?g=695555&p=4931906

    2. Zotero will auto update reference numbers when you you use the word processor add-ons to cite and have the respective option enabled in the document preferences (which it is by default)
