Lost translator icon in the adress bar with Zotero 2.0rc4

I've upgraded to Zotero 2.0rc4 from rc2. I was trying to write a translator (scraper) until I realized my effort was vain since the small icon in the adress bar (book, article, etc...) has completely "disappeared". I tried many websites for which I know there are zotero translators... without success (amazon, cornell law, sudoc, times.co.uk amongst others...)

I tried to reinstall zotero rc4, to uninstall then reinstall scaffold (which I used, before, with zotero 1.0.10)...

Thank you!
  • You likely corrupted something in the 'translators' directory. Use "Reset Translators and Styles" in the Advanced pane of the Zotero preferences, or just delete the 'translators' directory in your data directory and restart Firefox.
  • That's right: thank you very much.

The problem is the javascript file of the translator I'm writing: if I add it to the translators directory, I have the same problem. If I remove, no problem.
I don't understand why: I've copy-paste in a new .js an old translator which works perfectly and changed the UUID (using this link: http://www.famkruithof.net/uuid/uuidgen?typeReq=4 following your guidelines here: http://forums.zotero.org/discussion/6533?page=1#Item_2 )

    What's wrong?
  • I couldn't tell you unless you posted the file somewhere.
  • I've re-copy-paste from the other translator into a new file and I then made the changes: that works now.
I think it was a problem with UTF-8 but I'm not sure.

Anyway: thank you very much for the swiftness/accuracy of your answer... and for zotero!
