Zotero plug-in on Safari sometimes hangs the system

I had the Zotero plug-in on my Safari and that sometimes hangs the system. I had to disable the plug-in so my computer doesn't freeze up.

Nothing should hang, but after a Zotero upgrade the Safari extension might occasionally be in a weird state due to a macOS bug:
