Failed to retrieve attachment content by using "Attachment content" in "advanced search"

My macbook and the macmini have the same version, but the "attachment content" that can be retrieved on the macmini cannot be retrieved on the Macbook, and the library is identical.
  • Do you have "Sync full-text content" enabled in the Sync pane of the Zotero settings on both computer?

On the computer where it's not working, do you have it set to download files "at sync time" or "as needed"?

If you click on the attachment in question on the computer where it's not working, what does it say for Indexed?
  • All the files are synced through the cloud. All the Settings you mentioned are the same, including the value of "Search" in "Settings" (all default).

However,I tried to change the value to a larger number, and clicked "rebuild index", and then inexplicably it did work! (By the way, the feature to retrieve keywords from attachments is great, thank you all guys for making it!)

I don't understand why I set the same value but the results were so different. Does it mean that each time I add new attachments on one device, I need to click Rebuild Index on the other device so that I can get the same searching results on both devices?

No, but we're not able to debug it if it's working now. (When we give debugging steps, we really do mean to just do those things and not other things. Rebuild Index was almost certain to fix this, but that doesn't tell us anything about why it happened.)

Let us know if it happens again.
  • OK. Really appreciate it.
