Unique Entry ID / URL / to reference in another app.

I want to be able to use a unique Zotero record ID / URL / Pointer to my desktop app version in another application (Aeon Timeline tool) to provide the link back to the Zotero record where I got the information from for the timeline entry. This is not a formal citation, just the ability to link records.

1. Can I generate a unique ID for each Zotero record?
2. Can that unique ID resolve back from another app to my Zotero Library entry?
