Citation addition is not working

When I am working in Word and want to insert a reference from my Zotero library, it cannot find them. The source (a PDF file) is in my library but cannot be retrieved in the searcbar that appears in Word. What could be the cause?

You need to create an actual parent item with metadata (e.g., by using right-click → Create Parent Item).
