Page number format in APA 7th

Hi all,

I would like to modify the style when citating page numbers. Currently it is as follows:

(Le Roux et al., 2023, p. 2)

I would like it to be like this:

(Le Roux et al., 2023:2)

I have not found a similar question posted in the forum. Could someone help me? I am trying to search in the code from the APA 7th but I don't find the line of code where I pressume I should modify delete the ", p" and add ":" instead

Best,
Alejandro

  • It has to be APA? What's this for?
If you have some flexibility, ASA style does do this out of the box.
  • Wonderful!

I might have some flexibility. It is for a scientific paper in sociology, so ASA might work. I have noticed though that ASA uses both name and surname in the bibliography (which it is OK by me, but sometimes they request only surname and name's initial letter).

I wonder what would be easier: changing the "p" in APA style or the names in ASA style. Any suggestions? How do you usually do it?
  • Both aren't super hard, but I generally discourage people from editing APA just because the style is overall so complex.
  • Noted

Where could I find instructions for editing the ASA style? I would only like to know two things:
    - How to choose the name style in the bibliography (full name or first letter only)
    - How to add a "," in the quote. Example: (González, 2022) and not (González 2022)
