Is there a way to associate highlights with a new pdf file?

Due to some sort of error one of my pdfs is now inaccessible through Zotero's interface. I try to open it using zotero and it just keeps loading, not actually displaying the text. The pdf is still available to access through a regular pdf reader, but I can't see my highlights. Is there a way to associate the highlights in Zotero's database to a new pdf file attached to the same item?

If you do right-click → Show File and drag the PDF to Zotero to create a new attachment, can you open that one?

If not, can you email the PDF to support@zotero.org with a link to this thread?

I managed to fix it! Apparently, Zotfile had created a subfolder within the main zotero database. Once I put the PDF in the correct folder, it worked!
