I am having trouble using my word add-in
getting an error 5981: Could not open macro storage.

Any idea how to fix it?

This seems to be a Microsoft Office/Word issue, so you would have to check with their support. As a guess, this could be caused by corrupt Word installation, proprietary security software, folder permissions being misconfigured or some other Word configuration issue.
