6.0.30 version leads to extremely slow loading of pdfs

I have upgraded my Zotero recently and I see a very sharp drop in performance of PDF loading.

I have MacOS Sonoma 14.0
Zotero version: 6.0.30

At this point I have 2 pdfs open, zotero takes 2.6GB of my operation memory and 32% of CPU.
  • I don't believe there have been any changes to the PDF reader since at least version 6.0.28, if not earlier, so this is likely a fluke of some sort (e.g., the PDFs you have open)
FWIW, the 7 beta runs natively on Silicone and is generally massively faster.

Yes, that's correct. There haven't been any recent changes to the reader in Zotero 6 in months. @petv, does this actually go away if you reinstall, say, 6.0.28 (released October 11)? I suspect you won't see any change, and you should then update back to 6.0.30.

Can you close all tabs and provide a Debug ID for Zotero startup through loading a single simple PDF and reproducing some slowness, using the "Restart with Logging Enabled…" option?
