Bulk import of archival records

Hi! I'm a historian and I work a lot with primary archival sources. Now, for my thesis I have recieved a massive collection from an archive. These are mainly meeting minutes and meeting protocols from different bodies of an international organization, spanning over six decades. As you can imagine, we are talking hundreds and hundreds of files. They come ready sorted in a folder structure for each body/committee/working group and the individual files herin are named with the date so that the chronology is taken care of. Now, its workflow and the annotation-possibilities make me want to use Zotero for organizing these files. I know how to import individual files and it works like a charm, but the cheer number of records make me wonder if there is a way to automize this process, given the folder structure and naming of the files. Any tips are highly appreciated!
