Installation problems

Hello,
I've tried several times to install Zotero: the installation went without a problem and the first time I launched it I got this error message:

Error: Error(s) encountered during statement execution: no such column: name [QUERY: SELECT userID, name FROM users] [PARAMS: ] [ERROR: no such column: name]

  • Has Zotero been installed on this computer before?

    If you have no data, you should try closing Zotero and deleting the "Zotero" folder in your home folder.
  • Thank you for your reply, I don't think Zotero was previously installed on this computer.
    After uninstalling, I checked that the Zotero folder had been completely deleted.
    I re-installed and found the same error.
  • Which Zotero folder? I didn't say anything about uninstalling. I'm talking about the "Zotero" folder in your home folder. It contains a zotero.sqlite file.
  • I'm pretty sure this would only happen if you had some much earlier version of Zotero installed on this computer, and deleting the "Zotero" folder in your home folder should fix it.

    Wait, do you have the Zotero program files installed in the "Zotero" folder in your home folder? They absolutely shouldn't be there — that's the Zotero data directory.

    You should delete that folder completely and reinstall Zotero into its default location (or the default user-local folder that the installer uses if you don't have admin permissions on this computer, but definitely not "Zotero" in the home folder).

    What do you call the home folder?
    The only folder I have is this one: C:\Program Files (x86)\Zotero
    And there is no zotero.sqlite file in this folder.
