Searching subfolders
When I'm in a collection, search is not matching authors of papers in a subfolder or sub-subfolder. Is this normal?
I've checked Preferences -> Search, but that seems to be about full-text indexing, not searching by author.
Just found out, if I go up to My Library then the search has a global scope. I would have thought that folder-level search would also search subfolders.

adamsmithQuick search works as a filter of the current view. If you want subcollections included, check "Show items from subcollections" in the "View" menu

mmontaigneThanks so much. I had a vague feeling of seeing that preference somewhere, but didn't look there. (It seems like an odd place to put it, as it's not discoverable from quick search or Preferences.)

adamsmithThat's because the option isn't principally about searching -- it's about how you view items. The effect on search is just a side effect. Whether it should be in preferences is a matter of taste -- I'd argue that'd make it harder, not easier to discover.
