University of Sheffield Resolver / Lookup engine
Hi,
Im trying to find out if it possible to do a pdf download through my institution credentials. Currently I can add a reference doi with Endnote and it will download the pdfs that I have access to through my institution. I'm assuming (perhaps wrongly) this must also be possible with Zotero?
I've tried https://resolver.shef.ac.uk and the library site https://find.shef.ac.uk in the custom resolver field in preferences, but I get errors and there is no lookup engine code listed on GitHub for this institution.
Sorry if this seems like a silly question, I have trawled forum before this post but couldn't seem to get any solution to work.
Thanks in advance.

In Zotero, you primarily save via your web browser. When you save from an article page, Zotero will save high-quality metadata and automatically attach the PDF if you have access to it on the page.
If you just paste a DOI into Add Item by Identifier, Zotero will look for a PDF to download, including open-access versions, but for gated content that will only work if you have direct or VPN-based access to resources, not if you use a web-based proxy like EZproxy.
