Bookmarklet on Android not working

When I try to save a paper to zotero, using my phone, I get an error:
'An error occured saving with embedded metadata. Attempting to save as webpage instead. An error occured while saving this item
. Try again and ...'

This is what I did so far:

Installed the bookmarklet according to instructions (bookmark the page, then rename the title and paste the provided code in url box).
Then I went to my page of interest, selected the address box, started typing 'save to zotero' and then selected it. It then shows the error message.

I don't know what instructions you're referring to. The bookmarklet hasn't been supported in years, and there's no active installation page.

Yes, I used these instructions. So if bookmarklet is no longer working, there is no other option to save on Zotero, right?

An official Android app is under development.

This option for google chrome did not work for me. So there is no option then.

Are you actually reading the page?

On other platforms, or if you’re unable to install a browser extension, you can save webpages or identifiers to your library from the save page or with the magic wand button from your web library.

Oh, sorry, no, we’re just still showing the bookmarklet page for mobile browsers. That’s a mistake, and we’ll remove that. The page you see from a desktop browser is what’s supposed to be there.
