iPad sync problem

I added new papers and attachments on PC. But neither the new paper list nor attachments showed up on my iPad, even after I tried pull-to-refresh many times. But I could still use iPad to visit my library webpages. So I guess it wasn't the network, but the APP's problem.

The issue was solved after I logged out and re-logged in. But I had to download again all the attachments that I already had on my iPad before using it.

So here are my suggestions on Zotero for iPad:
1. Keep all our local attachments when logging out. So that we don't have to waste the time re-downloading them.
2. Provide a button to manually force syncing. Otherwise, we're really helpless when automatic syncing doesn't work.
3. Make visible the progress of syncing. A syncing icon with progress by percentage would be perfect. For now, we can't see whether the APP is syncing at backstage or simply doing nothing...

Apart from those problems, Zotero is wonderful. Please keep maintaining it. My PhD career is counting on you, dude!
  • If something isn't syncing, we have troubleshooting steps to debug that. If you just log out and back in, we can't look into it.

The point of logging out is to remove all local data from the device. It wouldn't make sense at all to keep attachments locally.

Pull-to-refresh is how to manually force syncing. (E.g., that's exactly what it says to do when following the troubleshooting steps to generate a Debug ID.)
  • Alright got it. Thanks.
  • And how about sync icon for Zotero on iPad?
