Google Docs - Linking Citations

For the past 24 hours each time I try to add in a new citation or relink a citation the following error message appears: "The document citations are being edited by another Zotero user. Please try again later."

I am the only author editing the document so I am unsure what is causing it. I have tried troubleshooting, including creating an entirely new Google Document but the issue persists. I am not having the same issue in Microsoft Word, so I am wondering if there is an issue with the Google Doc?

Are you sure you're still seeing this? This was caused by an issue on Google's side, but it should be mostly or entirely resolved at this point:

Yes it is still occurring, just retried

You just need to override the lock in that dialog. This is just a residual error from when the problem was occurring.
