Cannot import styles

I am unable to import any styles into Zotero. I get a security certificate error. If I download it from the database and try to add it, I get an unexpected error. The ID is 1673756044. Thanks for any info on how to solve this.
  • You'll want to fix the certificate error (see https://www.zotero.org/support/kb/ssl_certificate_error ) as that likely prevents a whole bunch of other Zotero issues from working correctly -- including, possibly, automatic updates: what version are you on?

Also, what exactly is the error you're getting when adding the style manually and which style are you adding?
  • None of the suggested actions fix the certificate error, it appears to be a security issue with the government network, as I did not get it when I tried it at home. I do not think there is any way I can fix that. The other error is just a popup that says "an unexpected error occurred", no other info to pinpoint it. I was able to import the style at home without issues. Thanks.
  • Which style? I believe you would get that error when installing a dependent style where the parent style it links to can't be downloaded when you try to inst

@strackerth: While we can tell you what parent style to download to fix this, lots of things won't work properly if Zotero can't connect to the internet.

It doesn't sound like you actually tried all the steps (since one of them is "talk to your IT department, and depending on what they say follow these certificate-override instructions"), but instead of doing that I'd suggest trying the Zotero 7 beta, which, as noted on the cert-override page, should automatically use a custom system root certificate on macOS, which may very well fix Zotero's ability to connect to the internet on your network.
