Inline Citations not updating

Hello,

I'm trying to change my referencing style for a paper I'm writing in Word. Originally the citations were Cite theRight Harvard 12th ed, and all added/linked to Zotero within the doc.

However I'm trying to change the style to MHRA 3rd ed with footnotes. When I do this using the Zotero document settings tool in Word, it adds the footnotes and changes some of the inline citations, but leaves others in Harvard style. This seems to be random.

Does anyone know of a fix for this?

If you put your cursor into one of the citations that doesn't update and then click add/edit citation in the add-on, what exactly happens?

If I click in the middle it just sticks the footnote number in the middle of the citation. If I select the whole citation, it places the number after it, but leaves the old citation in place.

It's as if some of the old Harvard citations have jut unlinked themselves.

That sounds like unlinked citations, yes. You can tell by showing field codes https://www.zotero.org/support/kb/word_field_codes -- if you don't see field codes for citations, they are not linked to Zotero in any way.

Aha... thanks Adam. The other night I opened it in GDrive to read and edited a few words. Sounds like this might be the culprit?
