Groups
I am trying to use Zotero groups as part of a graduate class. I am interested in hearing from others who have done so, or are doing so.
I also have a question about groups. The group web page only allows users to view citations and download citation attachments. Am I correct in this? I didn't see any way to do this. So my students need to download the plug-in and set up sync options to actively develop the library, if I'm understanding everything I've read.
I would appreciate any suggestions, etc. Most of my students are familiar with Firefox, but have limited experience with Zotero.

Upgrade Storage
We've just finished a class here that used groups to manage material. The system itself is performing well for us now (as for me, not so much, but that's not a Zotero issue). Getting everyone set up with an ID was a hassle, which could be avoided if our uni would get in touch with the Corporation for Digital Scholarship and work out a plan to tie our single sign-on (CAS, I think) into Zotero storage (which would be sweet, but in our case probably won't happen anytime soon). It works for us, though; it just takes a bit of time and energy to get everyone set up.
As things are at the moment, Zotero seems to work well for distributing materials, and I'll definitely stick with it for that next term. For group work and the like, it should work fine, so long as students are on good terms with one another and happy with global access; fine-grained permissions are not supported as far as I know (and personally, I'm not sure I'd want the burden of using them if they were there).
