SAA Newspaper style
Hoping someone can help me figure out how to edit the SAA style guide to address newspapers.
According to SAA Newspapers should be cited as follows
(Weekly Missouri Courier [WMC], 7 July 1838:[page numbers, if available]) Note: After first mention, simply use WMC with date (day/month/year format) and page. Also see Subsection 3.12.12.
Currently in the Zotero SAA style it just gives the Full name and the year, not the date, even though the full date is in the entry.
Thanks!

Also realized there's a similar issue with personal communication
Apart from that I made some edits.

I tried using the edited style provided above, but this gives me the date in the wrong order (Month, day, year instead of Year, Month, day), comma placed incorrectly, and leaving off the page number.
Example--with the above customized style I am getting:
(Panama City Pilot March 26, 1908)
When it should be:
(Panama City Pilot, 26 March 1908:1)
It does say "day-month-year" in the code, so not sure why this is coming out this way, but I am very inexperienced in coding! Has there been any further insight into this?
I have tried switching the language from US to British and restarting, and this style still gives the dates in the order of month, day, year. Is there anything else you can think of to try? Thanks
With the customized style above, I am still getting dates in the wrong order and no page number included.
Thanks

I am writing because the current version of SAA in Zotero is now out-of-date (last updated April 2022/Sept 2023). Does anyone know if someone is working on fixing this style in the program/updating it to reflect the new guidelines? I realize the new guide is only 7 months old, but I know a lot of archaeologists use this platform.
Thanks for any updates you can offer!
You can see the old style here: https://library.cms.ok.ubc.ca/wp-content/uploads/sites/116/2019/08/SAA_Citation_Style_2018Rev1.pdf
New style here: https://documents.saa.org/container/docs/default-source/doc-publications/style-guide/saa-style-guide_english_updated_2021_final08023c15928949dabd02faafb269fb1c.pdf?sfvrsn=c1f41c1b_14&_gl=1*1kjxsu9*_ga*MTEyMTE0NDQ4LjE3MTc3OTU0MjQ.*_ga_6SSR7BY1NJ*MTcxODM5NzQ0Mi4yLjAuMTcxODM5NzQ1OS4wLjAuMA..

Edited Book - OLD SAA:

Edited Book - NEW SAA:
Singleton, Theresa A. (editor). 1985. The Archaeology of Slavery and Plantation Life. Academic Press, Orlando, Florida.(hanging indent needed)
Anyway, I think it will take an extensive revision of Zotero's formatting to be current with the new SAA style guidelines. I don't think it is one I can spell out easily in this discussion forum in a useful way to your programmers either. Please let me know if that makes sense?
Have there been any updates to changing the code to reflect the newest SAA style guide? I have tried to poke around a little, but I am nowhere near talented enough to correctly update the style myself.
Thanks for any updates that can be provided!
