Derwent Innovations Index - ISI web of science

Hi

Zotero imports nicely from ISI WOS, but when choosing the other database at ISI, Derwent Innovations Index, that has the same layout and export functionality, Zotero does not offer to import anything. The only workaround is to export to endnote web and the export RIS from there and import that to zotero... but it seems that the derwent index should just have an added translator as ISI has in zotero and then it would work as well...i guess? :-)

Cheers /Kristian
  • yes - that's true of all ISI databases that aren't WOS.
  • adamsmith, I am facing the same problem as Kristian.
Is it as simple as copying the ISI WoS translator and calling it something else? Forgive me but I haven't delved under Zotero's covers and if this is an easy fix, I would really appreciate a fairly explicit guide to fixing it.
    Thanks,
    Graham
  • no, I don't think this is actually that easy - someone would have to take a closer look, but it's probably necessary to write a separate translator.
  • Thanks Adam.
I've found the appropriate .js and begun to "fix" it- I have made Zotero recognise the Derwent pages and offer to parse them, and I'll see if I can get the parsing to work over the next few days.
  • Great. If you run into trouble, post here or on the zotero-dev developer list (http://zotero-dev.googlegroups.com/) and other translator coders can help out.
