Adding items in subcollections to parent collection

I am aware that we can set extensions.zotero.recursiveCollections to true, but this does not affect where items actually are. What I'd like to do is actually adding the items in each subcollection to the parent collection (sort of drag-and-drop). I tried, but in some cases, when I click on "Add to collection", the parent collection is not selectable.
  • The parameter extensions.zotero.recursiveCollections is now accessible directly at the bottom of the View menu: Show Items from Subcollections.

For me, when the parent collection is not selectable, it means that the item is already in the parent collection. You need to disable the option Show Items from Subcollections to check what is actually in the parent collection.
  • This is awesome! I almost left Zotero for a worse, and not open source, reference manager just because I didn't realise it's possible to set subcollection items visible in parent collection. I bet 90% of users are like me, that this is what they'd like, and I bet we could avoid losing some users if the Show Items from Subcollections was on as a default for all new users, perhaps putting it on even for all existing users, many of whom are likely unaware of this option, but still would like to use it (just never took the time to google it, or didn't come up with the words to google it).
