Supposedly "Saving to Zotero.org" but then can't find any added articles...

Hello,

I am trying Zotero for the first time. I have the desktop app open and am logged in on zotero.org. When I find an article online (e.g. Wiley online library) and click the Zotero icon next to the web browser bar, a pop-up message appears near the icon saying "Saving to Zotero.org". However, when I go to my online Zotero library, nothing is there. Nothing is added to my desktop app either. The only way I seem to be able to add articles is if I download a PDF of the article and then drag and drop the file into the desktop app.

Please let me know how to use the handy web browser icon to increase efficiency and anable saving of web pages.

Thank you
  • You shouldn't give it permission to save to zotero.org at all if you have the desktop app. Restart your browser, and if it can't find Zotero, see the documentation page linked from the "Is Zotero Running?" dialog:

    https://www.zotero.org/support/kb/connector_zotero_unavailable

(If neither is working, though, did you change the Zotero Connector to only have site access "on click"? That won't work normally.)

    Hello,

Looks like my settings were set to access site "on click", I changed it to open access. I restarted my computer and it seems to be working now.

    Thank you.
