Sync error

I'm using Zotero client 6.0.26 on Windows 11 Home. The client stopped syncing 12 days ago. I tried unlinking my account, and now I can't seem to link the client again to the server. When I enter my credentials in Preferences and click Set Up Syncing, the progress arrow spins for several seconds and I get the message "Request timed out." The client's sync error message reads, "The Zotero sync server did not accept your username and password." But the Zotero website accepts these credentials and logs me in with no trouble. What can I do? Thanks.
  • That sounds like a more general problem with Zotero's network connection. Are you connecting via a proxy server?

    Restart your computer and try again, and if you're still having trouble try to provide a Debug ID for an attempt to set up syncing. If you can't submit the debug output at all, or if you get an error about a connection error when you start Zotero, see Connection Error.
