Chrome connector JSTOR pdf problem

Hello everyone,
I've just unstalled Zotero standalone plus the Chrome connector on a new PC. It seems to work fine but it does not seem to download pdfs from JSTOR: I get the red cross even after accepting the Terms and Conditions. It happens after saving on the article main page and after downloading the pdf in my own browser. Can anyone help?

Here is a log: D2020432414
Thanks a lot!
  • Can you submit a Debug ID from the Zotero client for a PDF save that fails?
  • Of course: D785568519
  • Can you save pdf attachments from other pages? Zotero downloads the PDF, but then is unable to find it on your disk drive. This might happen due to permission errors, or a security software removing the file as false-positive malware.
  • @JobC: You appear to have your Zotero data directory on OneDrive. You absolutely can't have it there, and we can't provide any support here as long as you do.
  • Thanks for the help everyone. There is only one computer attached to the OneDrive (so the last paragraph on the link you provided) and I make physical copies once a month so I'm not too worried.
But I understand the policy of not providing support in this case. In case anyone is still wondering, pdf attachments from other websites do work fine. Thanks again!

    Hello everyone,

Weirdly enough, pdf attachments from some other websites now also do not work. Here is a log of two pdf saves that don't work: D265239913. The Zotero data directory is not on OneDrive any more, so I hope some one could help me.
I browsed around the forums to see if others had the same problem. It does work fine in cases that don't require a subscription (https://arxiv.org/abs/2004.13001 for instance), but in both cases of the failed pdf saves listed above, I am able to manually download the full pdfs so it can't really be an access problem.

    Many thanks!

Does this happen on sites that don't go through your proxy server? E.g., from this page (making sure the Zotero Connector isn't proxying the site, which it shouldn't be)?

We'll have to debug this in Zotero 7. You can either install the Zotero 7 beta now and provide a Debug ID from that if this still happens or wait for the Zotero 7 release.
  • It works fine on files that don't go through the proxy server, such as the one you mention. I'll install the beta and let you know.
  • It works in Zotero 7! Thanks for your help.
