Multiple users using the same account simultaneously
I work with college students who do a lot of projects in teams. Can one of these teams create one account with one password and have multiple team members using the account at the same time? The teams have a team email account which they would use to create the account. There wouldn't be one person associated with the account; it would be all the team members (typically four people), so there would be no one to invite other users to join the group. Also, it would not be a Zotero group because anyone with the team email and password could access the site; they wouldn't need to be invited by a group administrator.
Any thoughts on multiple users using the account at the same time and not getting some type of error or denied access message.
Thanks!

adamsmithIt's a possible set-up, but it can be unfortunate -- e.g. it's a mess to handle for someone who already has a Zotero account and things like tracking who added what become impossible. So I'd recommend groups for most scenarios, but there's nothing fundamentally "wrong" with your option.

dstillmanedited August 30, 2023Yes, we strongly recommend that everyone have a separate account, which they can use for other projects and keep with them after they graduate. It also lets you make some people admins, remove people from groups if they leave projects to avoid accidental deletions, etc.
