Zotero 7 Beta: undo/redo isn't working

Neither in the main window of the desktop app, nor in the pdf/epub reader, the undo/redo drop-down menu is always grayed out, as is the keyboard shortcut (ctrl+z) not responding.

Happens on Zotero 7.0.0-beta.38+b79e0b3d7 (64-bit) on Ubuntu 23.04.

    Undo/Redo is possible for text editions in the readers (as well as in the notes or in the Info pane), but not for creating or deleting annotations. It is planned: PDF reader: Undo support.

    In the main window, you can undo items deletion by restoring from the Bin.
    You can undo Retrieve Metadata from a righ-click on the newly created item.
    But you cannot undo individual operations like:
    - Deleting a tag
    - Tagging an item
    - Removing an item from a collection or deleting a collection (both are planned)
    - Moving items between collections or libraries
    - Adding related items
    - ...

    They were already not possible before Zotero 7.
