Vancouver supplementary S in front of numbers??

Can anyone tell me how I would edit the Vancouver style to have an "S" in front of the numbers? I have been asked by a journal to do this for my supplementary document but cannot find a style which has this.
  • Which journal is this for?
    It's probably easier for us to create a custom style for the journal than you doing it. That way also other authors wanting to submit an article have the style ready for use.
  • Hi, thanks for your comment. It is for Trends. They suggest using the style "Trends in Biochemistry" for the main text but to add an S for the supplemental references.
  • Hi damnation, I was wondering if you could advise me on how to create a custom style for the supplementary file please? There are 127 references so doing this manually doesn't seem feasible.
    Thank you

    Assuming you're using vanilla vancouver.csl.

    Open the style and change line 345 tp:
    <text variable="citation-number" prefix="S"/>

    You'll also need to change the file name, id, link as explained here: https://www.zotero.org/support/dev/citation_styles/style_editing_step-by-step
