    I just downloaded Zotero a few days ago and I'm having the same issue.

    Error Message: 'annotation' not loaded for item (295/1/N5V2NBHD)
    Debug id: D810035196
    (I'm not sure if the error reproduced. The error message stayed the same)

    Check your database integrity from the Advanced → Files and Folders pane of the Zotero preferences. If that passes, can you provide a Debug ID for Zotero startup through reproducing this error, using the "Restart with Logging Enabled…" option?

    Hello, I was able to reproduce the error as suggested. I had set up my account for syncing but maxed out the free storage capacity instantly. I turned syncing off so Zotero would go back to saving onto the computer I was using (and stop telling my syncing wasn't working). My computer storage is currently listed in 'Files and Folders', so I thought that worked.

    To clarify, I had my account set up for syncing and then turned it off before I got the 'annotation' error the first time

    I turned syncing off so Zotero would go back to saving onto the computer I was using
    Just to note, Zotero always saves to the computer you're using, whether or not you're using syncing. Anyway, nothing to do with this.

    Did you check your database integrity?

    If you don't mind, can you upload your database to the DB Repair Tool and provide the Upload ID it gives you? You can ignore the download links the tool provides, but that will let us run some tests on your database to see why this is happening — there's something strange going on here.
