Wiley pdf download fails

Hello, I failed to download PDF files from Wiley website to my library using the Zotero connector, but I could successfully download PDFs from other websites such as ACS and Nature. And I got a Debug ID "D2004887760". Best regards!
  • We'd also want the URL, exactly as you see it, please
  • That's not going to work, unfortunately. Whatever that proxy scheme that is (and I don't think we've ever seen anything like it before), that's not something Zotero supports, so Zotero can't recognize this as Wiley at all.

There may still be a separate problem — Zotero is falling back to the Atypon translator (which doesn't depend on the domain name) for you, and that might be able to save the PDF, though I can't check that at the moment. If you provide a Debug ID from Zotero (rather than the Connector) for reloading the page and trying to save again, I can tell you if there's some other problem, but most sites you access with a URL scheme like that just aren't going to work in Zotero. At best you'll get embedded metadata or metadata lookup from the DOI translator.

If the way this proxy works is that it assigns a persistent random string to each site, you could manually set up some proxy entries in the Proxies pane of the Connector preferences to map each random string to each site, but that would be pretty tedious.
  • Yeah, I did used "Atypon journal" to save documents, but it failed to download PDF. Even though I turned to "Embeded Metadata" but it also failed. And I submitted Debug Output Logging in my Zotero and got Debug ID "D508718344". Thanks a lot!
  • I wonder if this issue has been resolved.. As still cannot import full text papers from Wiley to Zotero using my institutional login.
  • I have the same question
  • @odko, @Dong.Huang: What page URL are you saving from, and what happens when you click the Save to Zotero button?
