Would it be possible to include new ISBN databases where zotero searches?

From https://forums.zotero.org/discussion/89578/search-by-isbn-not-working#latest, it appears that when looking a reference on ISBN, Zotero searches "only" at Library of Congress, K10plus and WorldCat catalogues. As there are some books not appearing in any of them, would it be possible to include new ISBN databases to Zotero look for?

For example, next is the database of books published in Spain:
https://www.culturaydeporte.gob.es/en/cultura/libro/isbn/base-de-datos-de-libros.html
(quite bad, the text is in Spanish). And in the next link, one would search using the ISBN:
https://www.culturaydeporte.gob.es/webISBN/tituloSimpleFilter.do?cache=init&prev_layout=busquedaisbn&layout=busquedaisbn&language=es

Thanks!

Generally yes, but they should have proper APIs, not just websites and I couldn't find an API for the Spanish ISBN service (metadata was also not great IIRC)

(Zotero also looks through the French and Polish national libraries as well as for WHO ISBNs, btw)
  • Thanks @adamsmith

I will ask if there is an API to work with that database.

Regarding the additional information you give, is it documented at any place of Zotero documentation?

    Thanks again!
  • No, only by reading the code, I'm afraid.
