Not allowing me to save to Zotero

I have been using Zotero for months without issue. Today it removed Zotero from my extensions on chrome, unsure why, so I reconnected it with the browser connector but now it wont give me the option to save any data to zotero. Under manage extensions is says Available. Won't open anything when I click "authorize" but i think it should still be working without that? I have a doctoral thesis I need to finish by today so this is killing me!

    You don't need to click Authorize or do anything in the prefs. All you need to do is click the Save to Zotero button in the toolbar. You should be using the Zotero desktop app, and Zotero will automatically save to the app as long as it's open.
