Zotero Add-on vs Plug-in vs Extension naming
There are several inconsistent names across UI and documentation (not taking into account their spelling variability):
- In the Tools menu, it's Add-ons
- In the Add-ons menu, it's Extensions (obviously, inherited from Firefox)
- In the docs, it's Plugins https://www.zotero.org/support/plugins
On Github, the topics are:
- 44 repos: https://github.com/topics/zotero-plugin
- 17 repos: https://github.com/topics/zotero-addon
- 0 repos: https://github.com/topics/zotero-extension
I suggest renaming and sticking to one name: plug-in or add-on. And the new Zotero 7 upcoming release may be the best time to introduce such changes.

dstillmanedited August 21, 2023"Add-ons" and "Extensions" in the UI are both from Firefox, but we're going to try to change those to "Plugins" before Zotero 7. We only ever call them plugins.
