I am unable to add citations to my article in google doc. Although, I am able to add citations to a blank google doc. I have also tried deleting the content bit by bit, but it still doesn't work. I have disabled other connectors. I have also uninstalled and reinstalled zotero, restarted chrome, zotero as well as my mac. Could you please guide as to what else can be done?

You don't say what the actual problem is that you're experiencing.

If you click on the plugin and nothing appears, make sure the citation dialog isn't just appearing behind the Zotero window.

If you're sure it's not that, and it works in an empty document, see the last step on Troubleshooting Errors in Word Processor Documents — you don't want to delete bit by bit but rather to delete in halves (in a copy of the document via File → "Make a copy…").

You should also provide a Report ID from Zotero after triggering the error.
