Can't add book from SpringerLink

I'm a professor at a college, and our library subscribes to SpringerLink. I'm using Firefox on Linux (Fedora 38) with the Zotero Connector extension, and it generally works well. For a very long time now, whenever I use the Zotero Connector button on a page in SpringerLink, such as https://link.springer.com/book/10.1007/978-3-030-84459-2, it opens a dialog box with options to create a citation for the whole book or individual chapters. If I click the box for the whole book and click Save, it tells me an error occurred, with minimal information, and does not create a citation. In the browser console, there's an error "No items returned from any translator zotero.js:326:12" with a backtrace. I can add the item manually by copying the ISBN and pasting it into the "Add items by identifier" pop-up box in the Zotero app, and I can download the PDFs and attach them manually, but it would be great to have the Firefox extension do more of this for me.

I've seen several other forum posts about people having trouble with SpringerLink, but they all seem to end with "it's working now". I don't think I've ever seen this work. Any idea what's wrong?
  • Translators can sometimes run into issues when sites change their structure, and SpringerLink is particularly prone to these types of changes.

Can you please submit an error report ID from the Zotero connector after a failure to save?

  • I'm going to have to add this thread to the ones that end in "It's working now." I just tried to add a citation to a SpringerLink book, and it worked. I still had to download the book PDF manually and attach it to the citation, but there was no error from Zotero. Maybe one of the Zotero developers fixed something yesterday, maybe Springer changed something. Anyway, it seems to be working now. *shrug*
