Sharing zotero-cited documents with a non-group member

Hi,
I received a zotero-cited word document from a cooperation partner who is not a member of our Zotero group. I would like to add references and update the bibliography in this document. Is it sufficient if the cooperation partner exports his reference collection and I import the rdf file? What do I have to do so that the citations in the document also work for me without having to reinsert all the references?
Thank you in advance for your assistance!
  • No, exported/imported items have no connection to the original items.

You can just use the document and add new items from your group library, as well as add additional citations for citations already used in the document. Existing citations will appear in the bibliography. You just won't be able to edit metadata for the existing items, since Zotero will use the embedded metadata for those.

We have some plans to make it possible to relink citations in a document to a new library so that it's possible to update their metadata.
