google docs numeric citation format

Hello, I hope someone had the same problem: any numeric style I choose, the citation in the text on google docs is automatically inserted as an apex (superscript). If I work on Word the problem is not present (the text looks ok: " blablabla [2]"). I guess the problem is some setting of google doc, but I was not able to solve it selecting format>text nor formatting as a "normal text" appear to work). Anybody with an easy fix?? thank you!!

That is defined by the citation style you are using. Use the same style you have defined in Word. See "Document Preferences".

Sadly, this is not the case and this is exactly why I posted here: the style it's exactly the same in Word, and while it works fine in google docs not. Whatever numeric style I choose in google docs it end up going as a superscript, while in word it works fine.

For a style that uses brackets in Word, do you see the numbers in superscript with or without brackets in google docs? So are you seeing this² or that⁽²⁾? (with brackets instead of parentheses)

If the former, you've almost certainly not set the citation style correctly. If the latter, we can investigate further. You're the first person to report this, so while it's always possible there's a very rare bug, it's more likely a misunderstanding about usage.
