File sync with OneDrive on iPad and MacBook Pro

I have my database of files in PDF format on OneDrive. I have Zotero app installed on my iPad and MacBook Pro. I want to sync my PDF files on these two devices via OneDrive.

1. How do I sync my files on OneDrive to my Zotero app on my MacBook Pro?
2. How do I sync my files on OneDrive to my Zotero app on my iPad? The app has limited capabilities on the iPad.

I want to avoid transferring or storing files on Zotero.

1) The iPad app only supports stored files.

2) We can't provide help with linked-file workflows.
