Adding Conference Name in Harvard (author-date)

Hi, I'd like to add the 'Conference Name' field in Harvard.

The style I need to achieve is:

Author, Initial., Year Publication. Title of Paper. In: Editor, Initial., ed. Conference Name, Date and Location of Conference. Place of Publication: Publisher, Page Numbers.

(bold added only to highlight the area I'm trying to sort)

I currently add the conference name AND date and location of conference into the 'Proceedings Title' field then manually italicize part of it.

Seeing that nothing I put in 'Conference Name' field ever appears, I thought I could put the Date and Location of Conference into that field but I don't know how to add the field into a style.

Hope that makes some sort of sense, and thanks in advance for any help!
  • do you feel comfortable modifying csl?
If so, the conference name can be called by
    text variable="event"

    Thanks for the reply.

I have it sorted by creating <else-if type="paper-conference"> before "chapter" (I'm guessing from the way it behaves it default maps to chapter?)

    Many thanks!
  • yes, exactly - when there is a default mapping as for conference (chapter) or report (book), that type needs to be called before the default to take effect.
