Cannot open PDF on my MacBook when I am saving it to my PC Zotero

I am unable to open my PDFs on my MacBook (and my iPhone) when I am saving them on one computer to another. The pdf is in my online Zotero.org library, and I am opening it one my PC, but it says "File Not Found" when I try to access it to read on my Mac. I've looked into multiple reasons, even bought more storage, and this is not it.
